Glenn P. Dodge, cashier of the First National Bank of Trenton, Oneida county, was born at Prospect, New York, on December 24, 1876, the son of William P. and Jennie F. (Mealus) Dodge. William P. Dodge, who died in 1900, was prominent in Oneida county politics and was financial clerk of the state senate for eighteen years. His wife was born in Alder Creek, New York, and was a descendant of the Greene family that founded Remsen, New York. She was also related to the Coon family, who were among the early settlers of Herkimer county, New York. Her death occurred in 1916.

Glenn P. Dodge received his early education in the public schools of Prospect and at the age of seventeen went to work in the lumber camp general store at Wilmurt, New York, and remained one year. In 1899 he went to Utica, New York, and became associated with the Oneida County Bank, and from 1900 to 1906 was bookkeeper and note teller for the First National Bank of the same city. The following years, from 1906 until 1918, he was note teller for the Second National Bank and Oneida Trust Company of Utica, and in the latter year came to Barneveld, and helped organize the First National Bank of Trenton, New York, and was made cashier in charge. The town in which this bank is located is incorporated as Trenton, with Barneveld as the post office.

In Utica, New York, in 1905, Mr. Dodge was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth S. Irish, daughter of Charles G. Irish, a prominent attorney of Utica. Mr. and Mrs. Dodge are the parents of four children: Elizabeth Frances; William Parker and Mary Lee, twins; and Gilbert F.

Mr. Dodge is a prominent Mason and a member of Sprig Chapter, No. 209, R. A. M. of Newport, New York; Mohawk Valley Consistory and Ziyara Temple, both of Utica. He was raised in Remsen Lodge, No. 677, F. & A. M., in 1900 and became worshipful master in 1922-23 and district deputy grand master of Second Oneida district in 1924. He is the present patron of Mappa Chapter, No. 578, Eastern Star, and also a member of Trenton Lodge, No. 577, I. O. O. F., and treasurer of the lodge. During the World war he was in charge of the Liberty Loan drives for Trenton. He is a member of the village board of Barneveld, and his church associations are in the Calvary Episcopal church of Utica. For diversion Mr. Dodge is fond of touring.
