Wire Manufacturing Division: Building 109

The Wire Division produces copper wire in various sizes and shapes ranging from that finer than the human hair up to 3/4 of an inch in diameter. The rate of speed at which this wire is drawn varies from 200 feet a minute to as fast as a mile per minute... Insulations, such as asbestos, glass, cotton, enamel, paper and acetate are applied in accordance with engineering specifications... The Schenectady plant has a capacity of producing 1,250,000 pounds of high quality wire per week with approximately 350 employees.
