Chemical Department: Buildings 10, 29, 64, 67 & 77

The Chemical Department, with headquarters at Pittsfield, Mass., has manufacturing units of three divisions located at the Schenectady Works... The Chemicals division is responsible for the engineering, manufacture and sale of insulation varnish, the enamel for "Formex" wire, Glyptal resin, paints, plasticizers and miscellaneous products... The Laminated and Insulation Products division produces varnish cloth and tapes, and mica products used for electrical insulation... The Plastics Division produces "Alnico" permanent magnet materials for electrical apparatus.
