The 1940 Census is available as of April 2, 2012 at the Central Library of the Schenectady County Public Library through our Ancestry subscription, and available at any of our libraries from the National Archives.
Because the National Archives only sells entire states on microfilm for 1940, SCPL will not have the 4 rolls covering Schenectady County.
We are preparing a name index to the census. If you are interested in participating, contact us at info@schenectadyhistory.org. The index is now online and contains the Village of Delanson, the Town of Duanesburg and the Town of Princetown.
